Grandma's Kitchen is the heart of the family! You might be a Grandma, or like me, you enjoy remembering your grandma. This is a 25 block Quilt Along (QAL) that will be a sweet trip down memory lane.
- This quilt has multi color sashing and I will be using a fat quarter bundle, plus some of what I own tossed in.
- The lights in my bundle will be used as much as possible for the backgrounds
- As I've been doing, I have the supply list and layout in this PDF so you can sew blocks together as we go.
- It is not a mystery as I did run this quite a few years ago. Many of you were not part of my community at that time, or you may have not had a chance to sew it when it first ran. Even if you did, grab new fabric and have some fun with me!
- If you do NOT want a surprise, you can look at the QAL I ran 7 yrs ago where there are photos at https://www.ilovetomakequilts.com/grandmas-kitchen-sew-along.html
On the last page of my pattern below is an alternate layout for those you do not want a asymmetrical quilt or that prefer to do fewer blocks.
*** Start Date ***
- Starts Jan 2,2025 (to kick off it is on thurs) to June 25, 2025 - blocks on WEDNESDAY
- Size is 62" x 82" for the asymmetrical and you pick 54" x 54" or 54" x 68" with fewer blocks for the symetrical

- If you prefer a more consistent background get 1 1/2 yds of a light. That gives you plenty to work with. The background I'm using doesn't seem to be available anymore, there is a cream https://shrsl.com/4t2kg Here are some other options https://shrsl.com/4t2kb
- Binding I am using https://shrsl.com/4rhgw
- I suggest you pick up a few more fabrics if you have one you want to repeat more often than a Fat Quarter will handle.
- I will add in a bit from my own fabric if needed.
