** Fabric Choice & BIGGEST TIP **
- This block works best if you have high contrast between the 4 fabrics.
- My Biggest tip is to be on your 'A' game when sewing this. Don't be watching TV, talking on the phone, or planning dinner. Focus on ALL the steps. It is not hard. it just has some steps that are a little different, like the trimming.
- I have photos below
** Fabric Cutting **
- OPTION: Some people find it helpful to cut the squares from a Starched piece of fabric. It does help keep the triangles from stretching.
- If you do cut from starched fabric, then just be careful not to pull as you sew, the bias is more stretchy
** TRIPLE CHECK **
- Before sewing triple check the layout on a design board.
- Start by sewing the middle quarter square triangle first
- If you have my triangle book there are step by step photos that help with these blocks.
- Below I'll show you how to trim the block units

my TRIANGLE book https://shrsl.com/26lyk
NOTE - There are left over triangles when doing this. SEE THEM ON THE RIGHT Of my design board? You can use one set to make a test block. I'm going to use my test block from the video as part of my label
** INCORRECT Way to line up to trim the Unit **
- The quarter square triangle needs trimmed in a different way then you do a Half Square triangle.
- You will trim ALL FOUR sides.
- You have to line up the Diagonal AND then check for the intersection on the lower right in the photo above.
- It is INCORRECT the way it is shown.
** The CORRECT Way to line up to trim the Unit **
- you want to line up the 4.5" mark at the seam. Not at the bottom
- This means you will trim the 2 sides then rotate.
- See below
- Trim the right side and top
- Rotate the block
- Place the lower left at the 4.5" mark
- Trim the last 2 sides
** The Other 4 blocks are done the same Way **
- These are trimmed the same way as the center
- Line up on that lower right at the intersection before trimming
** All my blocks so far! **
Just one more to go!
