Please Note the Last block will be on Sat Aug 31 due to my travel.. For today I have a fun little project that you might not have seen yet and it will get you ready for fall!
And also note:
I designed this a few years ago for the Button club, i hope you enjoy my tips and the pattern!
- To use patchwork for an applique shape my big tip is to press the seams open like step (1) above.
- Then when placing the shape, try to avoid a major seam at the edge of the shape. I'm using my favorite scissors for the applique, you really need a pair!
- Stitch using the blanket stitch like in my applique book.
- Or use a straight stitch like I show you in my newest 'Teach Me' book with the basics. A straight stitch is the best way to learn fusible applique and my pumpkin is a nice easy shape.
- Quilt with straight lines and then audition button placement.
Find more applique tips in my Learn to Applique book.
I am ONLY using the layer cake and this time I used Jen Kingwell's behind the Scenes & the Grunge Dot in Black
And if you are looking for batting..the New Happy Cloud batting is DIVINE! you NEED some!
I LOVED hanging this in my yard! Now I need some bigger Boo pumpkins, right?
