Love my post office! It has gotten bigger through the years and moved twice since we bought our home (44 years ago) but it is still small and friendly. When we first moved to this home the post office was in a small building at the end of our street and we would walk to it. When the weather was bad, our mailman delivered mail on a tractor and in October, he will leave pumpkins by our mailbox for the kids.

that would have been great to walk to it! LOVE the tractor story too!

I love our Postal Carriers, our Post Office is 12 miles away, no matter what weather Michigan gives, our Postal Carriers always deliver our mail. It is always nice to have a chat with them whenever they deliver a package to the door.

Loved the demo on the cheeky cut, it will same me a headache later when I want to cut out a special design for the center block!

I loved to go to the post office with my dad when I was little. He had a po box, and I still remember the number - 133. Now that I have moved back to my home town I can walk to it. In fact, on Monday I walked there and mailed my block to The Virginia Quilt Museum. When the postwoman at the window felt it and saw where it was going she said, "Let's put a little extra postage on it and that way it won't get eaten up by the sorting machine." What service!

My fondest memories of going to the P.O. was when my family was stationed in Greece and later in Okinawa. The P.O. was our link to home, especially in the 1980s!

I just made block two. How do I get instructions for block one?

Main Street Block #2 Post Office...love our old building with tall columns on the front and marble on the inside walls. AND the great service with just a minute or too of friendly chit chat.

it's on this page, scroll down :-) https://www.ilovetomakequilts.com/main-street-project-page.html

I used some conversation fabric for the middle square of the block as it was the Post Office Block. Like writing a letter to a friend. Some of the other material used has a geometrical pattern like circuits, could be the Postman’s route! Here in Mackay Australia our mail is delivered by a Postman on a motor bike.
