All this wild and crazy weekly sewing... makes you really stop to think about how you do things right? I find I MUST store my fabric together for projects or I go nuts looking for it. A few people asked me about the storage container I use, I like these bins that stack really nicely and the blocks lay in them perfectly!
My goal is to make simple blocks for this quilt. I will be sharing the layout very soon.. and I have a little twist for those who really just want 12" blocks.. I'm going to help you out.. but CHALLENGE you to do the quilt I'm making.. come with an open mind to the next post on Saturday!

Let me tell you how this block happened.
When cleaning my studio I found stacks of red & cream based 5"squares from my fabric lines. I have NO IDEA why I had these. So I started turning them into 4" finished HST. There are quite a few. By adding a few more I can have a lap quilt.. seriously! At 4"finished squares a quilt grows fast AND you bust a LOT of scraps that way.
TIP - have smaller scraps? sew them together for 'new fabric' and cut 5" squares form them.I have you this layout & another in your PDF this week.. FUN!!
