I am the host of Aurifil's Designer of the Month program for the last 6 years. And during that time we have had so many cute projects from our fantastic designers! Thank you for joining me in making my Solstice quilt! This is a free pattern, and today I'm sharing a photo of the layout! This quilt is my journey to do a project from the first day of Winter Solstice to the First day of the Summer solstice. That is 182 days this year. I decided on 25 blocks of various sizes with a bit of applique thrown in the mix. My blocks are not hard as I want the joy of just cutting squares, rectangles and making HST units. Tidy Rows Block 7/25 of the Solstice

All this wild and crazy weekly sewing... makes you really stop to think about how you do things right? I find I MUST store my fabric together for projects or I go nuts looking for it. A few people asked me about the storage container I use, I like these bins that stack really nicely and the blocks lay in them perfectly! My goal is to make simple blocks for this quilt.
